If you feel that Panasonic's current heavy-duty DMP-BDT300 3D Blu-ray player is too hardcore, there's now a newer "lite" version which is slimmer and more down-to-earth. The latest DMP-BDT100 still retains some of BDT300's advanced features such as its proprietary PHL video processor and Viera Cast Web content streaming function, but trims down on A/V connectivity with a single HDMI output and one USB input instead of two of each. There's also no onboard 7.1-channel analog audio-out catering to older home theater systems.
Another notable feature is the DMP- BDT100's 3D support via an integrated SD card slot and USB port for videos shot by the company's HDC-SDT750 3D camcorder. Boot-up time is also reduced to 0.5 seconds, thereby improving system responsiveness. We've not received any news from Panasonic on Asia availability and pricing in Asia for the DMP-BDT100.
